Thistle Steel is one of Scotland's leading steel stockholders and is currently expanding to offer an improved range and service. Our location, close to the major road networks, allows us to provide a highly reliable and efficient delivery service which we recognise is as important as the product itself. We are able to react very quickly to urgent requirements, giving you the materials you require when you need them most.

Stock Availability

Since becoming part of the Barrett Steel Group, one of the UK's largest independent steel stockholders, we have doubled our warehouse space. This has enabled us to hold a much wider variety of materials in stock at Cowdenbeath. We offer a full range of general and engineering steel products, please contact our sales team for a copy of our product manual. New to our range this year are our Q-rail stainless steel modular handrail fittings, including glass clamps, which is proving popular with both domestic and commercial customer applications. Furthermore, we have access to over 80,000 tonnes of general steels and specialist products across our Group sites including a dedicated division covering handrail and walkway products that can be delivered direct to site if required.

Processing

We have two fully automatic band saws with up to 510 mm (330 mm dia) cutting capacity, plus mitre and bundle cutting capabilities. We can process batch volumes or single cuts, providing a truly flexible service to meet your requirements. In addition our new purpose built Group facilities offer a variety of value added processes including cutting, drilling and laser tube cutting. Several finishes are available including self coloured, shotblasted and/or primed and galvanised depending on your individual needs, further extending our processing services.
